Seminars /Workshop conducted by the Department:

Department organised one day workshop on “ Development of Communication skills” on  18.10.2021 for the students of the college. The resource persons were Dr. Masood Ahmad Malik, Head, Department of Functional English, Govt. College for Women, M.A Road , Srinagar, Dr. Inayatullah,Assistant Professor, Department of Kashmiri, Govt. Degree College , Ganderbal, Prof. Rubeena Jabeen, Associate Professor, English, Govt. College of Education( IASE ), M.A.Road, Srinagar, Prof. Abdul Gani Kumar, Assistant Professor, Urdu,Govt. College of Education( IASE ), M.A.Road, Srinagar, Prof. Syed Shabana Shabir, Assistant Professor,Hindi,Govt. College of Education( IASE ), M.A.Road, Srinagar. The pupil teachers were involved in various listening, speaking, reading and writing activities.

• Three Day workshop on “Communication Skills for Pupil Teachers” was organised by the Department from 16.03,2022 to 18.03.2022. Prof. Gurmeet Kour, former faculty of the college and a British Council trainer was the resource person.
• One day intra college Naat Competition was held by the Department on 28.04.2022. Mr. Syed Mehran, B.Ed 2^nd Sem, Ms. Sunaina Zahoor , B.Ed 2^nd Semester and Ms. Izzat Showkat, B.Ed 2^nd Semester secured Ist, 2^nd and 3^rd positions respectively.
• Department organised series of ten Extension lectures for the students of B.Ed 2^nd Semester from 23.05.2022 to 02.06.2022 in which Prof. Gurmeet Kour oriented the pupil teachers with different language teaching techniques. ·         The Department organizes various Orientation Programmes for new entrants of the College in which they get an idea of curriculum and methodology of teaching of Languages. During these programmes, interactive sessions are held where students get an opportunity to interact with the faculty.
• Demonstrations on how to frame and deliver lessons in the classroom are practised by the faculty followed by pupil teachers during both programmes (B.Ed and IG B.Ed/M.Ed). Demonstrations are done in Pedagogy of English, Pedagogy of Urdu , Pedagogy of Hindi and Pedagogy of Kashmiri.
• During ten day Post Practice Workshop for the students of B.Ed 3^rd semester (2020-2022) , Prof. Syed Shabana Shabir deliberated on how to frame objectives of a particular lesson and organisation of content into different steps of a behaviourist lesson plan  on 02.06.2022.
• Lesson Demonstration on Teaching of Urdu was conducted by Prof. Abdul Gani Kumar during ten day Post Practice Workshop on 06.06.2022.
• Three day workshop for IG B.Ed/M.Ed 3^rd semester on Communicative Skills from 20.07.2022 to 22.07.2022
